Laugh

Standard

Today

I said something

It made a woman laugh

Me too

Both of us threw our heads back in mirth

Her body began rapid jerky vibrations

Up and down

Shaping the compression and expulsion of her breath

Shaping the undulating sound of her joy

It mingled with mine

And the space between us was cut and jumbled up

In the air

Tossing a salad

Evening out the sprinkling of seeds

Bringing new life

Fertile soil

Her tears of laughter generously watered the space

A new world opened

As we caught our breath

A smoother rhythm

Mine on hers, hers on mine

We lingered a moment

And the space between us sang in silence
